On May 24 – the Day of Bulgarian Alphabet, Education and Culture – an official delegation headed by National Assembly President Ognian Gerdjikov paid a visit to the Vatican City State. The delegation included Assistant Prof. DSc Stoyan Denchev, Dean of the College of Library and Information Technologies Science and member of the Bulgarian- American Business Center.

U. S. Secretary of Commerce Donald Evans visited Romania, Bulgaria, and Slovakia, Feb. 27 — March 1, 2003, to meet with government officials to explore ways the United States could help build these countries' markets and increase U.S. commercial activity in them.

On October 25, 2003 Prof. Dr. Bogdan Ugarchinsky, co-founder of the Bulgarian-American Business Center and Board member since 1992, was granted Professor Honoris Causa of the University of Moscow on the occasion of his 60th birthday anniversary.
